Heavy Metal Contamination and Ecological Risk Assessment in the Sediment Cores of the Wetlands in Southern Thailand

The concentration and distribution of trace metals were determined in sediment cores from the Khuan Khi Sian wetland, Thailand. collected seven stations dry wet seasons 2022. Pb, As, Cd season range 0.00–60.16, 0.00–6.68, 0.00–0.92 mg/kg (dry weight), respectively. Meanwhile, 0.00–12.12, 0.00–3.86, vertical profiles metal concentrations core show a general increase bottom to top. Average heavy sediments wetland are found be lower than quality guideline. In cores, only As exceeded U.S. EPA standard. calculated enrichment factor (EF) geoaccumulation index (Igeo) indicate that moderately polluted with some locations. According Ri analysis, Pb was low risk but criteria ecological considerable they considered high risk.
